Gym 50:00 [1]

New programme done by young lad Sam. S & C mainly for triceps, upper arms, shoulders and rotation of hands. New programme on bith treadmill and a new different cross trainer. The latter was much harder than the original ones as they build in resistance to work gluteus etc.

Orienteering race 58:06 [3]

Woolston Wessex Night League. Put out 5 controls including 1 that I had to wait for the tide to go out! Bit wet getting out over the shingle/mud/boulders etc!! The first control I went to I approached from the opposite corner and got my feet absolutely soaked in a huge puddle going in from open land! Used emit touch free controls and discovered the first 2 I visited in Mayfield Wood hadn't been swirtched on! Turned them on. Apparently a whole group were effected. Guess one of the control hangers hadn't been told. Decided to go for the 2 50 pointers so kept to the west of the map. Pleased with score of 310. Comparatively warm. Pleased that only a W21 had beaten me. Probably best WSX NL result!

Orienteering race 1:17:41 [2]

There is steep and then there is Arthur's Seat. Dispite going from the Low Start I found this just too much! First part was fine getting up to the plateau. Hard climb from 1 to 2, but once we were down at the bottom again it was dreadful. So slow, really struggled to do 11 and getting in and out of the quarry at 12. Just lost my brain after leaving 13 and went straight instead of doing the second part on a track and dropping into the control. Was exhausted when I finished.
However all in all a great weekend's orienteering. Loved the Fight with the Night. Next year I will be better!
