Los Gatos (8:30am) - Dammit Run. Finish 4th in M65, 193 among men. Accompanying Louise, who was 5th in F55. I probably could have run 2 or 3 minutes faster. (Note from several days later: Official results are out. I was 5 of 16 in M65, 186 of 305 men, 238 of 498 all together. M60 was weaker than M65.)

*when we ran this last week for practice, we couldn't go through the fields; estimate that today's run was about :30 longer
**The meet's 2 and 4 mile markers seemed to be way off. Makes one wonder about the overall distance, though Louise's GPS watch measured it as 5.08, and her watch is usually short.
Stayed behind Louise for first 2 miles. The pace was a little quicker than I would have run. But I felt really strong on the hills, and had to slow down on the dam to wait for her, so maybe it WAS a good pace for me. She started walking on the Jones Trail hill, so I did too, but that was much harder for me than running, so I fell :12 or so behind. Easily made that up on the downhill. I suspect Louise's cautiousness on that downhill trail cost her perhaps a minute. Once out on the roads, she said she didn't have much left, so we kept an even pace; I could have easily picked up. Nevertheless, over the last 100m on the track I became aware that my hamstrings were pretty sore. Hardly in oxygen debt when I finished.
Van Boughner, Rachel, Louise and I each won medals in our respective categories.
