Training in a forest near Hillerød where they had decided to fell large areas so the going was slow but still pleasant.

Orienteering race 36:24 [4] 5.4 km (6:44 / km)
shoes: Salomon speed cross 3

A great race in some fantastic forested area.
It went really well and I was in control for most of it until the end of the long leg. I dropped 30 seconds at #13 as I missed the small re-entrant and then I didn't go far enough to the next and dropped 90 seconds. A real shame as I felt physically great and then through frustration I got the 3 fastest splits after this to the finish.
6 minutes down on a flying Swede.

Orienteering race 25:12 [5] 5.6 km (4:30 / km) +50m 4:18 / km
shoes: Salomon speed cross 3

Billy Goat Race so you could leave out 2 of the 17 controls.
Started off ok and took a bearing up the slope. Ed got in front and he seemed on a good line so I took a look at the map to see what ones to drop. There was no obvious drops so I decided on a few of the last controls. Unfortunately Ed's bearing wasn't so good so we dropped 30 seconds after going all the way to the road.
Settled in and just followed the lights around the first part but I was always in contact with the map. Overtook Mike on the way to #6 and could see Scott off in the distance so worked hard to close the gap. Scott did great getting us into #8 & 9 and this is where Ed started running back to us after he missed 8.
I followed James H around 10-12 and then I was on my own to the finish as I dropped out 13 and then 16. I managed to sneak in for the win with a bit of luck and the Achilles held up very well.
This was certainly the hardest it and myself had worked since the op so all good.
