Trail / Road Run 39:30 [3] 6.8 km (5:49 / km)
shoes: Roclite 295

Home farm loop then back over the Potarch wood track with D. Dreich. Tired but nice to be out...no-one else seemed to be

Trail 2:09:00 [3] 24.1 km (5:21 / km) +279m 5:04 / km

24k on the 24th at Glen Tanar with SW and DW
More support provision for SW on her RRR.
Out from Bridge of Ess to the second bridge, then Half Way Hut and on to the first bridge over the burn. Long time since I'd run up here. Brief refuel before returning on the lovely downhill gradient with the wind behind. Took the single track from Braeloine meeting JaneK on the way.
Nice run and a good steady pace. SW very impressive in completing the RRR (December in km each day from 1-24) with no apparent bother.
Pleased to feel no ill effects from a few longer runs this week.

Trail 35:00 [3]

Local loops..fields, forest and trails. Still got some Morven in my legs and still some coughs hanging about.

Friday Dec 22, 2017 #

Note

Cough still persisting but remains throaty rather than chesty.

Trail 1:17:00 [3] 7.2 km (10:42 / km) +661m 7:20 / km
shoes: ORoc 340

Morven Winter Solstice run.
Set off early with 4 youngsters from the Academy Run Club and BP and SR. Couldn't keep pace with the triplets..no surprises there. Lovely night and really sociable at the top. Must have been 40 out. Very different conditions from last year.

Supporting SW on her RRR - 20k on the 20th
Really wasn't sure about this because of the head cold but, what the heck, and more importantly, all in a good cause.

Plan was to link up Sluie, Carlogie and Potarch and run home. Left a car by Craiglash Quarry, although initially confused that the track end is no longer in the wood because of felling.

Up to the Sluie trig, wandered about a bit on various tracks; back to the main track then a loop in the hilly SE corner. Down to Potarch Bridge.

Waved at AT and the guys on their bikes and took the road from Hunters Lodge through Carlogie; then up the hill past Braeside and onto Balnacraig. Dropped down to the B993 (with small diversion to try and go around the Birkhall loop - fail).

Crossed the road and then did the usual Potties track loop, returning over by the trig and cutting through to Torqu steading. Lapped a field or two by the steading to make up the km-age.

Nice day for it. Felt not bad and it even seemed to do the cold some good. Earned some mince pies too.

Note

Don't usually miss Glen Dye DNCs but doing so tonight. Not particularly DNC motivated so far this year anyway. Fatherly responsibilities to visiting offspring taking precedence this time.
