Walking 33:00 [2]
Pleasant sunset walk on Milwaukee lakefront as break on way to UP.
Sunny, 25, gentle wind out of NW. Much of park had 2-3 inches powder snow over glaze ice - sometimes skating was easier. Mallard and pin-tails (black head & wings; white eyes and chest, yes?) plentiful on lake. None were diving, is floating on 33 degree water (1 degree for rest of world!) really that pleasant? Good company I guess.
On way to waterfront, I tried to take a shortcut through Milwaukee Art Museum. Took a wrong turn and meandered for 35 minutes - lost, but bemused as every exit sign led to fire alarmed door. Surreal walk as I bounced among centuries ("here's the 18th"), styles (nice Rodin's just past Warhol's soup cans), and cultures. Guards announced, "Closing in 3 minutes". I thought, "Sure!" - but then I did ask for directions - "Right, then left at the knight in armor".
