Got to about 8300 feet at Snow Basin today, well short of top at 9300. Felt good. Rain drops 4 times and sleet once but all very brief - missed nearby heavy rain. Until last half hour, met only 2 hikers and 1 MB'er. 8 deer, 2 eagles, 8 Turkey including one who leapt/flew from up 20 feet up on slope across my path -- lots scarier than a quail.
