Running (Trail/fell) 49:52 [3]

Met Marky Guns and Rhys at Whinlatter Visitor Centre, parked on the road for free, and ran into the woods.
Straight up and popped out onto the fell. Headed along the ridge until it ran out and descended to the valley. Bit rough and scratchy down here but then just headed back along the vehicle track. Hard work on the long gradual climb. Saw Sarah Tunstall at the top but she didn't say hello to us... maybe too much facial hair all round.
Some caution-free descending through the pine forest was fun.
Good food at Nichol End afterwards before shooting off to meet Hayley and Helen at Loweswater.

Down Wigton Road to Morton Park, big loop around that, across Dunmail Drive and home via Dalston road.
Good stretch-out afterwards. Still tight in the L) piriformis.

From Ben's place to Bilbo's. Chris Stirling showed up but decided not to do the hill session and went off for a road run.

Up to the foot of the fell. Dreading it!

Wansfell twice. Same session as last week.
11:06 was a suprise because I felt heavy legged, slow and hot on this.
7:45 rest (all but 30s spent running down).
12:19 was more suprising because I felt stronger and that I was moving better on this one!
Flying ants all over some sunny sections of the "cobbled" path.

Down to Ben's with a stop at Tesco in Ambleside to get a milkshake and some unripe blackberries.
Good stretch-out afterwards on Ben's lawn. Loughrigg shaded things nicely.

Myrtyl 15's book-ended with the 40s planks (2nd half leg lifting).
Easier than last time.

Had a nap after work. Achilles was still tight this morning and Ben text me about doing another hill session tomorrow so I elected to cross-train.
Middle 5 mins were a backwards leg action.
Good stretch-out afterwards. L) piriformis has been tight for about a week now. Eases into almost normal sized stretch.

Parked on the fell above Helton and, due to time constraints, did some power-walking over to show Emily the stone circle next to High Street at the N foot of Loadpot Hill.

Parked at the cattlegrid at Calebreck just S of Hesket Newmarket.
Followed the road to the path that goes up Carrock Fell and ground it out to the windy summit.
Trundled over the ridge to High Pike and then followed trods down the spur of West Fell to the car. Little bit of cross country to finish. Thighs tired after an hour.

Climbing (Bouldering) 16:00 [1]

Took Emily (uni friend passing through) to Eden Rock.
She was an unnerving natural and shot up the purples (new ones) and did the low green corner one, with lots of turning around, first time. Adam, Sorcha and had taken a few attepts when we did it!
Got most of the way across the purple traverse this time. Managed a green route I failed last week.
10 PM

General Strengthening 4:00 [1]

Adam, Sunday, Sorcha and Shabana were having strength competitions when we got home. Emily went off to her room and I got roped into some planks, single-leg squats, leg wrestling and press-ups. Did 20x proper press-ups but couldn't manage a clap at the end!
30x eccentric Achilles.
