Day3 of the Kainnu o-week, this time in one of the most ugly forests I ever run in. Had no fun at all during the run and was just happy when it was over - probably had to do something that I was coming down with a cold...
Just a run to forget about :(

Second day of the Kainnu-o-week, same great forest than the first day. This time I managed to orienteer properly in this forest and had a really good run until after 3/4 of the course I got stomach problems and could have needed a level3-thicket - which of course is the one thing you won't find in this forest. So lost about 5 min. in the last part due to some "shut up, stomach"-stops...
But apart from that a great and memorable run with only one slight o-mistake. Fun :)))

Orienteering Competion 40:12 [3] *** 3.94 km (10:12 / km) +65m 9:25 / km

Second competition of the day, this time the media race. Was hoping for another run in a gorgeous forest , but got a prolonged easy sprint instead - not what I fancied after a hard run competition in the morning. Was way too tired physcally so half of it was actually walking and also made some dumb lazy o-mistakes.
So the race itself wasn't really worth the start, but the evening after and the free drinks and food were.... :)

Katinkulta Open Sprint, a chance to run one of the womens WOC Sprint Qualification heats, in my case heat B. Wouldn't have been last there, could start for the Azerbaidschan national team ;)
Physically not fit (like always at the moment) and one bigger mistake. Still fun.
Details:
5) Slight confusion around the water thing. 15s?
9) Got pulled out of direction and came out between the wrong houses on the wrong street. A while of confusion before I found out where I am. 50s?
10) Had to show a child where he was. 15s

Kainnu O-Week (spectator races World Championchips), first stage. 5.2km
Completely new terrain type for me, took me 3 controls to get the hang of part of it and some more silly mistakes to find out more - especially about the way white and yellow are used. Felt tired in the beginning, but running got better by the end - finish calling?
Detail:
1) Would have been easy enough, but I ended up too far east at another control and instead of correcting the right way was completely confused and went in the wrong direction first. 3 min.
2) Went pretty well and in control until shortly before the circle when I made a bad parallel error (saw the distinct white and a path and thought it was the white near the control with the path cause I didn't know that some white isn't very noticable in the terrain (took me until 6 to figure that out). After 2 wrong tries to get to the control I finally figured out what happened and found it. 8 min.
3) Would have been good, but missed the control in the circle by a slight margin and got myself pulled in the wrong direction. 2:20
4) Would have been perfect apart from the start, where I oriented the map to the south. 1:30 lost until I figured it out.
5) Spiked :)) Am I getting the hang of it?
6) Not really, obviously. Fine until near the control, then instead of using the distinct hill for orienteering I tried to use the depression and followed the wrong one. Was able to relocate when I finally figured out that it's just impossible to understand what's white and what's yellow sometimes, if there's no distinct border on the map, but that the ones with the distinct border are perfectly easy to see and use. Lesson learned and 5 min. lost.
7) Easy one and spiked.
8-10) Finally a perfect part of the course, should do all controls like this next time.
Total mistakes: 19:50 - lots of space for improvement obviously;)
