Note
Well now the Highlander results are out. And they certainly are disappointing. the calculated amount of error I have is about 23 minutes. But in my opinion, their error criteria is a bit higher than I would report; meaning that the errors have to be big for the calculator to report them. I personally report about 35 minutes of error and unclean-ness. Including all the times where I fell down and was slow to get running again. I could have done this under 4 hours. But I messed up and things got worse from there as I punished myself to catch up which got me tired and made me mess up more.
I had the fastest leg on point 30, which is suprising considering that I was only just contouring and it seemed like the only smart route choice.
I also got the second fastest split on my point, 25, which I motivated myself to run fast on by saying taht I wanted to win the point. I got beaten by almost a minute; but I finished second after my initial doubts about how smart my route through the green patch was. I ended up bobbling that control too, running to the wrong boulder before glancing back and fixing myself.
