Cycle from Sand, Gairloch to Achnasheen and back.
beautiful route. climb over to loch Maree was really nice and along the loch in the scots pine woods. Glen Docharty not as bad as it looked. Flew along the loch to Achnasheen aware there was a surprise in store when I turned round - and the headwind for the return was hard hard work.
Tough ride, not just because it was a big jump in duration - lots of pain in my back from early on. really uncomfortable in a tuck.
perhaps feeling effects of a mild cold.

Was feeling strong on the bike on the way to work and heading home so went for an effort up Pentland Terrace (Comiston lights to Fairmilehead lights. Which turned into 3. And at the end of the 3rd the lights and traffic took me down the hill to the wee roundabout of the bypass, so I sprinted back up to the lights.
long climb 5:29, 5:28, 5:33 (last one a bit more blowy)
short 53 second (though didn't take split from the start.)
good.
