Note

Damn. Just got an email from Andrew saying that he had done his ankle in again and is pulling out of Caffeinated. Which now makes my team look very shaky.

Note
(rest day)

Little Wally-No-Mates went down to the inlet. But no one came :-(
He then lost an argument with Rach ("No, you had already planned a windtrainer session, you do it" "No, my knee doesn't feel good, you can use it")

So he sat down and consoled himself with his new keg of German style Bock. Every cloud has a silver lining.

Note

Avon Scrutineering, Glad I chose to do it in Bunbury since it was organised by the surf club. Almost got away without the orange stripe until one of the boys in conversation asked. "So how many Avons have you done" oh well.

thinking (Mapping) 1 [3] 33.0 km ( / km)

4wding around Bussell Brook with the GPS on. lots of hills

MTB Ride (Mapping) 1:36:00 [3] 19.04 km (11.9 kph)
shoes: Anthem MTB

Riding around Bussell Brook. Head wasn't in the right place adn it wasn't overly productive. Really need to dedicate a whole day rather than a few hours to this sort of thing. Managed to lose the car keys out of my bento box at one stage, traced my route back for a couple fo km's to find that they had fallen out about 100m away from the car.

Lots of hills and blackberries. not the sort of area I would chose to ride in. Some fun creek crossings.

Flat Paddle long 3:33:54 [3] 28.46 km (7:31 / km)
ahr:117 max:133 shoes: Endorfinn

Paddle up The Collie river.

Really didn't feel good at the start and it took a long time to get going properly. Started bonking towards the end as well which is a concern given the low effort levels.

The river started noticably flowing at about the 10km mark and progress got slower up until a log at 14kms in where I turned around. 1:55 to get upriver, 1:38 down river into the massive headwind.

Run long 1:00:40 [3] 11.96 km (5:04 / km)
ahr:149 max:178 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline 3

Flat run out along the inlet, slightly further each time. This isn't really testing me but I want to build slowly.

Windtrainer (fartlek) 43:00 [3] 18.6 km (2:19 / km)
ahr:125 max:162 shoes: Anthem MTB

2 x 90 on, 2 x 60, 4 x 30 rest repeat. same time recoveries.

Happy to be on the windtrainer tonight considering the weather outside. Not a bad session other than Rach wafting curry under my nose at the halfway point.

Flat Paddle (surf club) 1:05:00 [3] 10.5 km (6:11 / km)
shoes: Epic V10

Cruisier session today in a strong cross wind. Cruisier mainly because I was bludging though.

80% efforts up the inlet, wind ups down x 2. Stayed with the lead group all session but wash hung most of the day, and a few of the faster guys were missing. Had to do a few brace strokes when the gusts came through.

Note

Got my numbers in the mail today, very easy through CDU. Starting to feel the first tendrils of exitement as I stickered up the boat

And since I got round to downloading photos from the camera, some Juffy boat love

Windtrainer (Soft) 20:00 [3]
shoes: Anthem MTB

Started a pyramid session, long warm up since my legs were tired from the last two days then started uppping the interval times until dinner was ready. I really intended on getting back on the bike later. I really did.

But didn't.
