LBL Challenge w/Mo, Jas, and Erl
Pulled together a really good spring season race. Pushed the pace early on in the first trekking section, hoping to distance ourselves from a couple of other teams. Bushwhacker was persistent all race long though, and I think both teams made a few minor mistakes here and there to keep things close. It was a really fun, but competitive event. Good job to all the teams that were able to push themselves through the whole race - tough course for sure!

Biking legs consisted of mostly gravel or unmaintained roads, but also had a few short miles of paved roads and a good bit of great LBL single track riding. Awesome!

Orienteering race 8:02:00 [3] *** 31.0 mi (15:33 / mi)
28c

Trekking sections of LBL, Day 1.

Paddling race 3:20:00 [3] 13.0 mi (15:23 / mi)

Night paddle from Smith Bay to Duncan Bay and Sugar Bay. Saw Bushwhacker for most of the paddle in the distance - yikes!

Transition Time race 22:00 [0] 0.0 mi

Some TA time during LBL - had to plot points at CP40 as well.

Note

Slept at school last night. Combo gis career day along with plan b thesis drafts for both a poster and research paper due before I can leave for LBL. 7 hours of sleep in the past two nights with a 3-day grad school bender is not a great way to prepare for the first 24-hour AR of the season....
