running long 5:42:01 [3] 18.14 mi (18:51 / mi) +4808ft 15:04 / mi
I'm logging this as a run even though I averaged only 0.53 MPH (MPH = Mountains Per Hour.) The original plan had been a 4-peak Skyline Traverse from home, since the trails were clear a week ago. But with the snows earlier this week, when I left the house I didn't know how many peaks I'd be doing, only that it wouldn't be 4. Trails down low were wet; up on the crest there was 6" of very wet snow. The rocky summits of S. Boulder Peak and Bear Peak, normally easy scrambles, were in winter mountaineering conditions and not great for my overall average pace per mile. Debated adding Green Mtn at the turnoff; figured might as well: my shoes & socks were already saturated so wouldn't be getting more wet. Had the usual highly negative split for the last segment; probably related to Green Mtn to home having 60' of climb and 2,800' of descent. Not as fun over 4 hours into the run as it would have been earlier, and kinda cruel in that the almost constant downhill doesn't provide any excuses for walking, other than the top part that was too steep & slippery for running.
Question: If I start logging my training on AP, would anyone notice, or bother to read it?
