Hickory Hills CC, Palos Park. My favorite GC out of the 110 courses that I play around here. Never much of a crowd, beautifully maintained, lots of ups and downs...every hole is a different challenge, and always come home with a bag of found golf balls. Plus my PR for this course is And I haven't played here for THREE YEARS! Inexcusable. Always 'saving' it for another day.

Still very wet today. Shoes and sox soaked by the second hole. Very foggy at tee off at 7:40, after two L trains to Midway Airport and a 35-minute bus ride. But some good golf, despite all the 'casual water' on the GC. Sun came out at the end, and temps escalated rapidly, increasing my exhaustion. Gotta learn to drink and eat the water and energy bars I lug around in my bag!

Driving range 1:15:00 [1]

Long, productive session with a large basket of balls. Second level of structure; really gives good view of shot path and roll-out. All artificial grass below, with greens and flagsticks at various distances. Back fence 250yds...used to be able to get balls close to it. But no more.

Race Against Hate 5k, Evanston, IL. Very cool foggy morning on this Lakefront course alongside the Northwestern University campus. An out-and-back course, so I saw Soupbone coming back while I was still going out. Lots of walkers in front of me...who knew the anti-hate crowd was so motivated by this message?

Soupbone took 4th place in his new 65-69 age group; don't yet know how I did. Afterward we drove down to a Peet's coffee and caught up on the many people we both know. Good times.

Last game w Larry for a month. So I joined him in the golf cart, with a practice of grabbing a couple clubs and walking the last 100-200 yards of each hole. Still kind of tired at the end, but not as bad as last week. May do this more when Larry returns in July.
