There was a danger the 800m reps were going sour but managed to rescue them in the 2nd half. Paul kindly waited for me the 200m reps , we had 600m jog to start each rep at the 200m point. Running with Paul and Craig for the 200m. 2nd 200m was halted as one of the lasses ran across the track and I bundled her into the infield, no damage but I did shout track.

Still feeling really tired, glad of the sit down when I got to track, the long runs are still taking a lot out of me. Tough session, just hanging on, nice and honest floats so it was hard throughout. Great to have a big group running tonight.

Track session of 6 x 800m (300m jog), 400m jog, then 6x 200m (200m jog)

I’ve been really tired this week, a combination of working longer hours for our year end and racing/Sunday’s long run, my body decided to tell me about it. Struggled through the 800m reps so just did 5, there didn’t seem much point in struggling round.

2.37 (1.38), 2.38 (1.37), 2.38 (1.37), 2.41 (1.44), 2.42 (1.38)

36 (1.21), 33 (1.28), 33 (1.25), 33 (1.32), 32 (1.34), 32

Running 8:28 [3] 0.44 mi (19:21 / mi)
shoes: Asics DS Trainer 19

After 700m jogging/waiting I joined back in for the 200m, felt more spritely.

shoes: Asics DS Trainer 19

Pathetic jog home by myself.

Sunday Apr 12, 2015 #

Running 2:34:56 [3] 17.83 mi (8:41 / mi)
shoes: Innov 8 X Talon 212-6

Planned a long steady effort from home, which became pedestrian with the winds. BHP, Bell Hagg where I bumped into Laura and Tessa and stopped for a chinwag, along to Wyming Brook. From here on I really got battered by the winds, up to the conduit, ocean view, Redmires, Stan pole, ran at a 45degree angle along Stanage edge, trig and down to Burbage bridge. Over to the Ox Stones was quagmire esque, burbage quarries, top of porter brook and back through the parks/Broomhill. Left knee and right glute hurting by the end, longest run in a while.

Running race 31:56 [5] 5.6 mi (5:42 / mi)
shoes: Asics DS Trainer 19

National 12 stage road relays, 25th team.

Great team performance considering injuries and half runners. The course was slightly different to the last time I ran at Sutton park. Very tough to keep up any sort of pace and quite dull along the out and back stretch. Saying all that I enjoyed running hard, I overtook a runner after about 200m and as I did the fella from BARTS came past me, so I kept the position the same. Over a minute down on Adam and 1:30 down on Ben which was to be expected but managed to pip Phil, so must have done ok as Phil’s in good shape. Good beers (cucumber!) and curry after.

The time would have been worth 30:52 (and quicker?) on the old shorter course where I’ve previously ran 31:47 in 2011 and 31.28 in 2010.

Running 38:53 [3] 4.9 mi (7:56 / mi)
shoes: Asics DS Trainer 19

Warm up with Paul round the short lap, then some of the short lap warm down on me tod.
