Adventure Race 6:20:00 [3] 45.0 km (8:27 / km)
shoes: Salomon XA Pro 3D

STT Trek Elite with Myka on a perfect sunny day at Rice Lake.

Remote start with a trekking section in a beautiful wooded area before heading out on the bikes to CP2. Mainly hilly gravel roads until we hit the hydrocut that was filled with sand and loads of racers from the Trek course. Not a good combo for me, could have used a sign on my pack "makes frequent stops" :). The wind picked up quite a bit during the day making the biking tougher but also made it seem less hot than it actually was. Happy to get off the bike at CP2 for another trekking section that took us at least 2 hours. Cut off times are always a factor for us but this one wasn't even close...not what I expected.
By the time we arrived back at CP2 we were both pretty much out of water. Even without the single track at CP3, biking back to the finish would have been another 2-3 hours since most direct roads were out of bounds. We were both feeling dehydrated and decided to stop the race at CP2. While it was the right call, getting a ride off the course felt crappy. :(

Overall we still had a great day that ended with a nice evening among friends.

Thanks to STORM and all the volunteers for another well organized race even with all the extra shuttles required. :)

Note

Taped the knee which held up well. Definitely a good idea not doing GRR the week before.
Not sold on the new bike fit yet. It is guaranteed for a year so I can take my time to figure things out.

Run (road/packed trail) 42:03 [2] 6.14 km (6:51 / km)
shoes: Hoka Mafate 3 + BFS

Sandy Cove - much better today.

Interestingly I heard that allergies can play a role in getting dizzy fast while exercising . Not something that usually affects me but then again it's a special year.
