Orienteering race 1:30:57 [3] 14.1 km (6:27 / km) +330m 5:46 / km

British Long Champs - Winterfold and Pitch Hill - M40

Bad start to 1 - very hesitant and was looking for it too early, but all those I spoke to after seem to do the same

4-5 shortest leg on course (c.50m) time = 4:16 - ooops - it was a re-entrant in some detailed contoury bit with depressions and rhoddies!! got wrong side of rhoddies, went right around and back before realizing I had not gone far enough!!

Too far left on slope at 6 and then went straight passed it!! too low

Dull long leg just a road run!!

Got 1 fastest leg, was 4th fastest on long leg .... was already over 7 minutes down on Andy M at 6 so after that was better!!!

Got caught out by extraction lane to 16 thinking it was track along side semi open, but it was earlier semi open bit!!

Drifted way right to 18 and ended up at near start!

11th (Again - same as British Sprint & Middle! so could say I am consistent!)

Orienteering 38:27 [3] 8.14 km (4:43 / km) +30m 4:38 / km
shoes: Brooks Pure Flow

BOK Park & Urban 2 - Westbury on Trym (West)

Easy with some reasonable route choice and good variety of leg lengths and park/woods/urban

northern route through stream 10-11
back under road and steps up to road 13-14
down steps and along stream 15-16
big dog leg 21-22
My quick impromtu game of football in Canford Park seems to have lost me a minute!

3rd behind an extremely swift A Damp Otter (someone slow that boy down - not!!) in 32:59 and someone called Bouvier in 34:17

Beat Mark Burley by a few seconds again - but not sue what he did on the route to last control as he was 2 minutes ahead of me at the penultimate control!!
