Note
(sick)

Bummed out, signed up for Test the Lungs xc ski and skijoring races and can't participate. Nasty cold moved into my ear, otitis media. First time in at least 10 years I'm taking antibiotics.

XC Skiing Skate 1:14:24 [3] 7.92 km (9:24 / km) +95m 8:52 / km
ahr:144 max:174 shoes: Landsem Touring Telemark

6:40 PM. Battle Creek West, St. Paul. Burned 627 calories.
-11.5 °C

Some leg work and arm work at Battle Creek. Legs only, V2, V1 and a fun cool-down lap. Nippy weather, stings your toes and bites your nose. Had my heavy Landsem-Artex BC combo on my feet. If I keep skiing on those I'll be superman before long.

Running 21:54 [3] 3.85 km (5:41 / km) +20m 5:32 / km
ahr:137 max:148 shoes: Nike Air Pegasus+ 27

5:17 AM. Hamline Midway/Como Park. Burned 347 calories.
-6.2 °C

Stray current saga: Mellie very worried approaching the bridge joint but she stept on it without ill effects. It's probably shorted to ground from the snow-deicer mix.
Cold a lot better, sweated profusely all day yesterday which seems always a sign of late stage recovery, for me at least.

Strength: Flexibility 16:00 [3]

5:45 AM. Home.

9:45 AM. Highland 9-Hole. Burned 543 calories.
-3.9 °C

We did it: strapped on the old Landsem BC skis, put on the harness, and did a couple of laps around the Highland 9-Hole course, sometimes on broken tracks and sometimes breaking our own. Not enough base to lay down a permant track but fun to see what it's going to be like.
