Orienteering 1:15:00 [2]

Blue Lightining Training Camp - with GrantM
Exercise on Majura where we focused on CARE with many small legs finishing off at the labyrinth - a very impressive finish where we had to follow the labyrinth (made of sticks) around to the centre. Apparently it is being used for Geocaching. Another exercise where we did clusters of controls followed by a 'longish' leg with route choice. Lunch was followed by Norwegian Cricket - had to be careful not to get injured while 'sprinting' across field.

ANU - focus on sprint-O with GrantM
Session on what to do/not to do - walked/jogged 2 loops and finished off with a short sprint. Another great session. Don't know about those shorter legs but my legs have been buggered every night. Very enjoyable social gathering at the Melhuish residence with lots of delicious food powering us for another training day...

Blue Lightning Training Camp - Black Mountain North
Off to a shakey start when we headed to the wrong assembly area. Maybe the earthquake in the early hours left me a bit confused. Geoff Stacey organised a training session where we headed out in groups doing a course, except there were no controls. Good exercise teaching us not to rely on controls.

Afternoon session at Bruce Ridge with Rob Fell.
Simplification on 'brown' feature map with Annabelle & drawing simple maps. Reading Thierry's map simplifications. Good afternoon. Legs tired.

OD on salty nuts which then made me feel a bit stuffed but gave me enough reason to do strength training

w/u down to bike path before going up 1st hill and along ridge, then 8 x hill repeats at Kaleen Heights. Slight drizzle felt quite pleasant.

Spent a lovely morning supporting the running crowd at the Half Marathon & eating breakfast like I ran the half marathon myself!! Kingston was certainly buzzing with after race endorphins. Feeling a bit full and stuffed, I invited Lolly for a MTB to Bruce ridge. Was good fun and we repeated logs we could not clear first up. Managed dip for the 1st time! Yeah.
