Gentle run with Callum on tired post velogaine legs.

Later did a lovely bush walk from home to Deviation road winery via Mark Oliphant CP, there was even water running over the little waterfall! Lovely walk will definitely do that again.

Mt Magnificent velogaine with Kay. Great location. Unfortunately Kay forgot her camera so therefore I was at the back struggling to keep up most of the event! As I was slow and we wasted time on a hidden control we had to do some replanning at the end which we got a bit out so had a hard slog back to the finish and finished late. Needless to say I slept very soundly that night.

orienteering 1:20:00 [3]

Course 4 Mulga valley.
Orienteered quite well up to near the end of the long leg to 8, messed that up, relocated, found 8, proceeded to 9 and made a huge error, was basically not careful enough where I crossed the last creek and was too far south. Found another control couldn’t work out where that saddle was on my map ( because I was stupidly set in my thinking that I was north not south of the control.) Became completely bamboozled and didn’t execute a relocation plan until I’d spent more than 15 minutes wandering and trying to help a distressed orienteer who asked for help ( I did warn them I was a bit lost too!) A 5-6 minute ( for me) leg became 24 minutes. V disappointed in myself. Shame as it was a lovely area to run in.

Tandari/ BriGlen park, course 4 4.2 km. Basically I aimed off a bit and all went well. Lots of fun.

After a enjoyable morning vetting Rogaine controls nearby.

Frustratingly I woke feeling very congested and thought in conscience I couldn’t attend orienteering, most disappointingly. Particularly as it was my clubs event and so close by. So did a slow run with Callum instead.

Basically my Saddle hill loop made interesting by having a stationary goods train blocking my route in two different locations. With Callum.

Moon rocks course 2 , 7.1 km.

Somehow managed to mess up 1 and then 12 both not careful enough with bearings. Not major mistakes but on this fast course they had an impact. I was a later starter as I gave my snooze alarm a work out so didn’t have others around which in hindsight would’ve been fun. It was a glorious day to be out on this lovely area though and the course setter avoided the trickiest sections of rock keeping to the ‘parts I can interpret ok’ sections.
