I'm going to spend one month in Chile (Santiago) next November (also a few days in Buenos Aires but too short), and I'm looking for O'pportunity there.

So according to this post, http://delaatstepost.blogspot.com/2007/03/orientee...
the best thing to do is to contact Dietrich Kühnemuth. I sent him an email a few weeks ago but no luck. Does anyone have a contact?

I think one of the Danish trac-trac guys made a map out there for the military at some point. I didn't track it down...

I was in Chile this summer and looking for orienteering opportunities. I did get in touch with the group but didn't end up going to an event because they are a little infrequent (at least at the time of year I was there).

Here's the website: http://www.orientatlon.cl/

And an email for the guy in charge: prismaventura@hotmail.com

Sometimes events are cross-listed on the running website: http://www.corredorchileno.cl/

Good luck!

I am giving you an e-mail address of an Italian female orienteer that has moved to Chile with her husband: silviabertazzo@gmail.com
She is now helping the Chilean National Team at the Latin Countries Cup in Brazil.

She might be able to help you.

Good Luck. Angelo

The International Cartographic Association will be meeting in Santiago (sorry, I don't know when; google it!), and they will be holding an orienteering event as part of the proceedings. It's probably not open to the public, but the funny thing about it is that the ICA has posted not only the map they'll be using, but the course as well, and even ground photos of the control locations.

Indeed, thanks for the tips!
So ICC is from 15th until 21th of November, and the o'map is at the Hacienda Santa Marina :)
