By the sound of it I'd say you managed to travel the most out of any team there! Folks were impressed at how fast you guys were moving... well done! We saw you Sunday morning heading in the opposite direction and you were definitely on a mission.

We struggled with one point up north around midnight that cost us time and spirits. Once we figured out what we'd done we decided to leave that one. It was a high point value, but at that point we'd virtually been bushwhacking all through the night and we'd had quite enough.

It was a simple enough control, unfortunately on the original line there we were further along the main road than we thought so we missed the control. Our corrective actions were well planned, but each one was just off and our errors started to compound. We were tired and we weren't as sharp as we should have been to begin with! Still not 100% sure what we did.

Had we been tight there, and had we pushed hard in the final two to three hours we might have been able to clean the course, but that's best case scenario... which rarely happens!

Compared to other years it was a really enjoyable course with lots of options and a great mix of terrain.

We were a bit confused with the line-o course though. We were under the impression that the controls were all somewhere on the bearing, and there would be flag at the end of the line... that was the case with one control, but not the rest. No matter really, same for everyone. It only cost us 20 minutes or so when we went past the first control looking for the flagging tape.

I think we ended up in 5th or 6th overall... the NSAR guys were really tight with us. They finished before we did and I'm afraid they probably had a few more points too. Buggers.

Hope to see you at Untamed!

What was the control number that gave you trouble? Yeah we were on a mission, I realized at some point in the night that we'd forgotten to pick up 213 even though we had planned to get it, just didn't see it on my map fold and moved on to the next control. 202, 203, 204 also gave me trouble in the night, still not sure what happened, but we were a able to go back and pick it up in the morning. Definitly think it was clearable as long as you didn't have any major mistakes and planned the route properly, we unfortunately did not do that. Live and learn.

243... likely one of the easiest controls in the northern section! I'm still not sure what exactly we did, but we ended up near 241 instead. When we determined we missed 243 we eventually started going N / NW trying to get back to the road to start over. We got on the (a) road and we weren't sure which one it was! Basically just a case of bad decisions and poor problem solving.
