Good job. HAve to get those series standings up!

Alas, no WU meet this summer after all, we had to move it to Tilles.

I think Anna's working on a WU event in late August/early September. Once fall semester starts, it's much easier to get permissions to use the campus for an event, and if she can get it on the "orientation" schedule for the University, we might be able to draw even more to the event. She mentioned at the FP race that this might work out even better. We'll see!

Hope so - it would be nice - 'orientation orienteering' good idea! great way to see the campus! . btw, you have moved into second place overall in the male summer race series. persistance pays off, plus you have improved.

Unfortunately Anna pointed out that I DQ'd myself at the Forest Park o-meet (the first of the two). I crossed a waterway at a black border (didn't know about this rule till she pointed it out during our conversation after the race). Funny thing--when I was talking with the guy at the table (Brian?), I even mentioned crossing the waterway at that point as I was going over my route, and he didn't say anything about being disqualified (maybe didn't know the rule?). Please pass this on to whoever's in charge.

I don't think he knew the rule, pretty new at the game. (so you see, anyone can be a meet director, hint hint)

Quite honestly, I actually don't know anything about that rule either. I remember once Eric won a race by practically swmimming across a creek. And I don't know who's really in charge, other than Bryan, or how things like that are reviewed weeks after the fact. We could ask in an AP general forum if you were interested.

I don't think it'd be a question for AP. It might be interesting to see how many people know the rule, but I think it'd be a question for SLOC folks running the series.

I just want to be honest and let the referees call it how they will. No difference to me if I get DQd from that race or let the results stand. If you know Bryan's email address, send it my way and I'll let him know.

Tell you what, I'll ask around and let you know what they say. Bryan's e-mail is on the website, since he is now a board member...but as I said, his background is adventure racing, he would just do the same thing I'm doing...
