Yes this is the first year of the race. Based on the email I received from the race director it sounds like he's put a lot of work into the race and this is just one of the growing pains of a first time race. In the email he was definitely apologetic about it.

If you were looking for flat fast race that would suck, but I know you are not.

LOL, that's a jump... although over 50 miles, that's only 380 meters every 10km :-)
