Hallway sprints at Union County MS. UC orienteering practice. 8 kids present (4 high school, 4 middle school). We handled a bunch of administrative stuff for Georgia Navigator Cup (like lunch orders and t-shirt sizes). The kids watched the "Mapping Carter Caves" Video.

Then we set up a relay race in the hallway. Each of 2 teams had a 40 piece map puzzle to assemble. Map pieces were on a table at the far end of the hallway, and you could only bring back one piece at a time. The only place to view a fully assembled copy of the map was also taped to the wall at the far end by the table of pieces.

At the near end, each team had a table with an outer frame for assembling their puzzle.

Hueston Woods Campground Area. The old map needs a lot of updating - changed vegetation, new trails, etc.

Gave Skyler a bit of into to mapping and turned him loose for a bit over an hour.
