Orienteering race (*** 8.06km / 9.26 min/km) 1:16:04 [4] 6.4 km (11:53 / km) +308m 9:35 / km

Hurd State Park, organized by WCOC, ran red 6.4km. Very nice terrain. Rained a little at first, about 65 degrees, then cleared up and became sunny but never felt hot. Great conditions, had a nice run. No major mistakes but a couple of small wiggles - missed a fork in a path on the way to 3 and went too far north on the paths, lost probably 30s; came out too far to the left to the road on way to 5 (probably subconsciously scared of getting too close to the deeper end of the swamp!), 30s; went too far down on the hill to 8, 30s; didn't see #9 at first (was right on top of of it on the cliff) and went searching first right, then left, 1m; and finally must have run right past 13 (the "cliff" was maybe a foot high!), lost 1.5m. Total maybe 4 minutes.

Trail running 54:44 [3] 7.07 km (7:44 / km) +164m 6:56 / km

Mianus park again, 10 degrees warmer than yesterday and sunny. Legs a bit rubbery from yesterday. Started out faster for the first 3-4 km, then lost steam. After about 7km felt really tired and stopped, partly out of concern I would trip and fall again from leg fatigue, and partly because my feet started hurting too much. Second time this year I run with the iRocks, they don't get along with my feet. Will try to find Integrators for trail running instead, or something.
