Orienteering 50:00 [3] ***
spiked:12/12c

Training with the Stars at Copeland. Fun training set up by the Duke. Shadowing a few ARX athletes. Too bad Copeland Forest is getting thick.
2 PM

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3] ***
spiked:8/11c

Training with the Stars at Johnson Tract. Much thicker than a few years ago but Mick set a fun and challenging training. Ran mostly with AG!

Orienteering 25:00 [3]
(injured)

easy AM jog through MAC on the Nationals sprint map.

ARK Update: ARK has grown every year and session since we started in spring 2010. I'm always amazed we are able to grow our autumn numbers above the spring numbers since over half of the 12 weeknights are completely in the dark. I guess kids like running with head lamps. Anyway, this autumn it will be close and perhaps still a few weeks to know if we are able to continue our growth streak. Total ARK participation in the spring was 548 kids. We are currently at 535 for this autumn.

Cycling 1:15:00 [3]

Rail Trail with Tarno discussing exciting plans for ARX this autumn including the ARX Xcel Camp. A new record for ARK Hamilton participation yet again. Woot.

Note

Tarno examined my knee and it appears I've got something floating around in the knee that is causing tracking problems and pain. Grrrrr....

Tuesday Sep 3, 2013 #

Cycling 1:15:00 [3]

Rail trail with Tarno. Legs sore on this one.

Running 5:00 [3]

TNT Fail. Arrived late to the intervals (Ali-loops) but it was just as well because the knee was Super wonky. Emil said I looked like an actor from the Monty Python Silly Walks skit. Skipped core. Good crew tonight including several ARX'ers, Emil, Sudden, CharlWard and the very muscular Trav

Note

ARK K-W is organized as a partnership between GHO and Stars and it has been a huge success. ARK K-W will once again this autumn be Canada's 2nd largest orienteering/adventure running program (behind ARK Hamilton and larger than JDP in Calgary). Now that reminds that I need to sign up for Stars training this weekend. :-)

Strength 1:30:00 [0]

More map updates. Pretty tiring weekend but with the exception of the kids courses all stands are in the terrain and vetted for Nationals middle and long so well worth it. Now we just need the leaves to start falling off the trees. :-)
