A busy day. Also a shocking and sad day.

I was hosting our annual invited speaker hydrology lecture so lots of running around and coordinating our first in person hydrology lecture since 2019. When the talk was over we got news that a Prof had been shot by a former student at U Arizona. So sad.

then found out late late in the day that the Prof was the head of the hydrology dept and many of us knew him, some very well as some of my colleagues worked at UA (it is one of the top hydrology programs in the world) and the Prof was a really great guy.

Edit: As I wrote this I was wondering if our O friends in Tucson knew him and sadly they did.

So tragic.
