10 AM

Note

GNOAC Nav Clinic with Etoile and Katta. We each took a group of 10. MapRun makes learning nav a little easier. ie always knowing where you are. Great to see all the kids and families having a good time.

Had planned to go back out and do some training but got too busy prepping next weekend’s national team training camp and CTS adventure run. i’ve probably planned too much training for the national team the day before a 6 hour race. That will likely disadvantage them but with WOC in Finland next year Parry Sound is likely very terrain relevant. hopefully this camp and CtS Run will become an annual spring weekend.

Orienteering 55:00 [3]

Hanging three more controls while Nev ran next weekend's Nat Team corridor training. We lucked out with a break in the rain.

Kneehab 15:00 [3]

picking up where I quit yesterday morning. I think I'm seeing some progress. Just gotta be patient and diligent.

Our new little club here in Parry Sound in an 8 day period will be:
-organizing a navigation clinic with 25+ participants
-organizing 3 training sessions for National Team athletes
-organizing a 150 participant adventure run

maybe I bit off a little more than I can chew.

4 PM

Cycling 55:00 [3] 9.48 km (5:48 / km) +16m 5:45 / km
ahr:103 max:135

MTB#2 of the year.An improvement from Monday but my cycling training deficit is evident. Troubles with the gears popping on climbs again. Grr.

Note
(rest day)

too sore from MTB to train in AM and then the day got away from me when I found out that our experimental wildfire may be a go afterall. the next 5 weeks just got even busier.

Ripley on Netflix is incredibly filmed (black and white). Andrew Scott acting is superb.

Mobility 10:00 [3]

cold morning here.
Over 2 dozen people already signed up for the nav clinic at GN next weekend.

Cycling 45:00 [3]

First MTB of the season. Oof. that hurt.

Hung one more CtS flag and water level is about 1m higher in one of the beaver ponds. I had to go into about mid thigh on an adjacent wetland that was dry when i hung the ribbon a few weeks ago. Maps are printed so luckily no “foots” at CtS. Most participants will find the extra challenge a lot of fun tbh

Yoga 10:00 [3]

3rd period yoga. What a strange game. Boston is a great team if they have the lead but not so much when they don’t. No annoying USA USA chants from the Boston fans at least this game. they do know Toronto’s top player is American right and that their top players are Swedish and Czech. Weird.
