Map Reading 3:30:00 [1]

Cape Henlopen State Park - Figured I needed to do another walkabout here before meeting with the park people in a couple weeks to discuss using the area for orienteering. I still think it's a 50-50 proposition at best. But this would be a very interesting area.

Trap Pond State Park - Looking for another area to pair with Henlopen. Unfortunately, this won't be it. While the woods are runnable, the forest is completely devoid of features. Easily the most non-descript terrain I have ever seen.

Perhaps we will have to resort to this:

It would certainly make for some interesting marketing possibilities.

Hill profile level 10, 270 cals.

Calf is still feeling strained. Caesar Rodney is looking pretty unlikely.

Early morning run from the Y. Decided to do an AM run since I am off to Charleston this afternoon to see the new Kevlar(r) plant! Beautiful morning - cool, calm, clear. Headed down to Brandywine Park then climbed the hill to Rockford Park, the Tower Hill loop and back. Eased up a little on the return - my right calf felt like it was tightening up a bit. Still managed to get into the office by 7:45.

Fair Hill NRMA, MD - Local Red course on the Little Egypt map. A fun course. Technically pretty easy so no real navigational problems. Was a little slow picking my way through the thorns in places. The rain held off and it was actually pleasant running weather. A good start to the O season.
