Running 42:02 [1] 4.06 mi (10:21 / mi)

BKL Fest day 2
Andy really wanted to go back to Rikert even though I think we wanted to try out one of the downhill mountains. Maybe a good decision because it doesn't sound like the mountain out there were doing that well either. Did some ski limbo, jumped the bumps, and built more fairy houses. Andy had a great lollipop race (88 kids!) and overall we had a lovely day at this event. It was turning into a puddle by the end though. Good to see the timing gnomes out there :)

Snuck out for a run up a mountain road. Got a lot harder when the road switched to closed to winter traffic and running on an ice sheet. Calf was tight to start then loosened up. No pain for most of run until heel decided it wanted to complain too. Not sure why I'm having so many issues with running right now.

XC Skiing 30:00 [1] 4.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

BKL Fest at Rickert
First time hitting up a BKL fest. It's a really good event, but just a little disappointing that the snow situation was so rough in VT. We did most of the events that we could on Saturday. There were 2 trails that we could ski with Andy a couple of k besides the race course which was busy all day long. The mini-marathon was cute and Andy loved the snack shack at the top of the hill. There was also a very patchy storybook ski up a hill to where they had some solo stoves with fires - sad no one else was up there. She also did some laser biathlon and played with some kids in the woods building fairy houses and climbing trees. I managed to sneak out for a 30 min patch to patch ski on some of the outer trails (forgot to start watch).

XC Skiing 1:00:00 [1] 8.5 mi (7:04 / mi)

Terrible ice rink weston with a ton of people from super slow to sprint pace. At least got another day to rest the calf.

XC Skiing 35:00 [1] 4.0 mi (8:45 / mi)

Warmup testing klisters and slow cooldown

XC Skiing 26:11 [3] 4.1 mi (6:23 / mi)

Tuesday night classic
Tired out from life, tough day at work, and having to deal with klister did not go well for me. Tested 2 types of klister on old atomics and found one that was slightly better. Put that on the race skis and no grip. I've been having a lot of trouble with the classic race skis and maybe the pocket is too different from all the rest of my skis or something. So the decision was between no glide wax slow old skis or also no glide wax skin skis, and I think I broke down a little standing there and went for the skins. Had amazing kick up mt weston and around the rest of the course, but really slow glide compared to the people around me. 23% back and a bit disappointing to see everyone take off like that. Whatever, it was a decent workout and I was able to race a couple of girls and a guy also on waxless. A little sad that this could be the last weston event.

Running 41:49 [1] 3.85 mi (10:52 / mi)

First fells run of the year. Surprisingly dry. Feeling a bit wrecked from everything in the last week or so, and calf still hurting.
