Running 39:29 [3] 3.7 mi (10:40 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 23

Running after lab/not-lab with Presto! Ugh. Today was very tiring. I was supposed to go into lab very early for an hour or so and then leave to have breakfast and do the rest of my work from home, but my fungi had other thoughts. I ended up getting into lab very early (without breakfast) and then staying there until nearly 1pm. I was hungry, tired, and mildly grumpy by the time I got home. The afternoon was a bit calmer, so that was good.

Oh! And we found a place to live in Ithaca! Yay!

Next up in adulting is dealing with the horrifying morass that is health insurance during the period between when my Berkeley insurance ends and my Cornell insurance begins...

I was super tired, so running was super slow tonight. Presto was also slow because it was above 70 tonight. But it was still super great to get out and relax for a bit. Fun, fun!

Hiking 5:00:00 [3] 12.0 mi (25:00 / mi) +800m 20:43 / mi
shoes: Saucony Peregine 2

Hiking with Sam and Presto up Twin Peaks! We decided to take advantage of the awesome air to go for a hike in Tahoe. Twin Peaks has been on our list for a while, so we headed to Barker Pass. It was so great to get outside in the mountains today. Work + dealing with things for the move are really starting to wear on me. There was a cool rocky outcrop on our way up that we obviously had to scramble up for the view of Lake Tahoe. Then we had a big descent before heading up to the intersection with the Tahoe Rim Trail. The hike to the top of one of the Twin Peaks was SUPER rocky and SUPER steep. Presto was not impressed, and we had to boost him up a bunch of times. We all made it to the summit, though, where we got some truly spectacular views of nearly all of Lake Tahoe and stopped for lunch. The way back was pretty uneventful, and the backclimb wasn't even that bad. Super great to get out!

Biking 1:10:00 [3] 10.6 mi (6:36 / mi) +460m 5:49 / mi

Biking up Centennial Drive! I spent some time in the morning phone banking for Biden. I was calling Georgia, and apparently I talk WAYYYYY too quickly for most Georgians to understand me, which led to a few amusing conversations. I got hung up on a lot, but hopefully this is helping at least a little bit. The air was really good again, and I was excited to get outside once I was done with my self-imposed phone banking date. It was also pretty foggy, and the higher up the hill I got the chunkier the fog got until it was debateably raining at the top. There was actually water dripping off my helmet. Hopefully some of the fires got misted on, too! Super good to get out!

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching after a warm shower.

Running 30:00 [3] 3.1 mi (9:41 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 23

Running with Sam and Presto after lab! Woohoo! The air was actually good tonight, and I felt FANTASTIC! I knew running didn't feel good on the days when the air was really bad, but I hadn't appreciated how sort of meh I was feeling on the days when the air was sort of middling. The air was finally actually really good tonight, and running was awesome. The past few days were pretty crazy in terms of lab, too (14h day yesterday), so I was expecting to feel pretty tired. It turns out my legs are kind of weak now from so many weeks of taking runs really easy, though, because for the first time in weeks my legs got tired on the uphill before my lungs started hurting. It was a good feeling :-).
