Biking 42:00 [3]

Biking in place! We are refinishing the floors in a couple of rooms this weekend. One of the floors has no varnish on it at all for reasons that are unclear to us. The other one just has really, really old varnish that isn't waterproof anymore. Actually all of our floors aren't actually waterproof anymore, but we can only do so many floors at a time and still live in the house. Anyway, today we prepped and sanded the floors and then applied the first coat of polyurethane. We rented a floor sander and since it weighs nearly 1.5 Lori's, Sam had to do all the sanding. This meant that I had a bit of a break while Sam sanded the second room after I'd cleaned up all the dust in the first room before we could start the varnishing process. It was already thinking about getting dark at this point, so I just took Presto for a walk and then biked on the trainer.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching after applying the first coat of polyurethane. It smells quite terrible in the house, but at least the floors are starting to look nicer!

Biking 42:00 [3]

Biking in place after lab! Got home quite late, but work was kind of stressful today, so I did decided to bike anyway. Glad I did, but we got to bed too late because of it. I really need to figure out how to get more work done in less time...

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Ankle was feeling WAYYYY better today, but was swollen again after another full day on my feet. Stretching seemed like it helped yesterday (or maybe the biking or whatever), so I stretched.

Biking 42:00 [3]

Biking in place after lab! My ankle is still quite noticeable, so I've decided not to run until at least the weekend. Biking feels fine, but it was dark by the time I was done with work, so I got out the bike trainer. Sam set it up on the porch for me, so I was at least outside. Good to get some exercise in!

Strength 5:00 [3]

Stretching 5:00 [3]

I've got TONS of labwork planned for this week, and my ankle was pretty swollen after 12 hours on my feet, so I iced it for a while.

Running 1:10:00 [3] 7.0 mi (10:00 / mi) +350m 8:39 / mi
shoes: Brooks Running 25

Running with Sam and Presto on the Finger Lakes Trail! Today was the kind of gorgeous fall day that makes you want to play outside, so we headed to Connecticut Hill to continue our quest to section run the Finger Lakes Trail. Presto was in a fantastic mood today and excited to be off-leash and just zoomed along with us the entire time, jumping streams and sniffing things and splashing through mud puddles and generally having an awesome time. Sam and I also had an absolutely awesome time! I did manage to roll my bad ankle hard once and lightly once - and just when I was starting to think I was ready to declare it healed (or as healed as it seems like it's going to get). Hopefully that doesn't set me back too much. Regardless, this wasn't a run to miss! So, so good to be out having an amazing time in the woods!

Stretching 20:00 [3]

Normal stretching plus 2x20 minutes icing my ankle. It is ever so slightly swollen and hurts a tiny bit to walk - not so much that I need to limp, but enough that I need to be careful how I step. I spent the afternoon mostly relaxing on the couch other than some time practicing the flute. I'm going to take it easy on my ankle this week and see how things go. Hopefully I haven't set things back too far...
