riding (Brownhill Creek) 1:05:00 [3] 19.5 km (3:20 / km)

Very stiff through lumbar spine & hips lately - yesterday morning when rolling from side to side in bed to try to loosen up, I rolled right out of bed (oops) and landed on the floor nearly a metre below with a squawk and a thump which startled the breakfasting Geoffrey in the kitchen - today I thought a bike ride might be a better option for gaining some mobility before a Killer Massage.
6 PM

orienteering (Wirra Wirra) 54:00 [3] 4.7 km (11:29 / km)
shoes: Inov8 OROC 270 blue/orange

Following an afternoon of housework (throwing out all of the dog's things apart from his collar, bowl and favourite ball was rather sad) I decided to reward myself by going to look for some rocks. It's a nice drive up to Wirra Wirra, but the pine forest there really isn't very runnable any more - too much deadfall (windblow? Some trees just seem to have rotted off at the base) and too many low branches getting in one's face - I spent much of my time bent double, with my hands up in front of me to protect my eyes, and when I ended up 50m offline it took me 2 minutes to get around to the correct set of rocks because the fallen junk pushed me around so much. I don't think we'll be using this area for Easter 2024...but, I did see an echidna!

running (Belair) 55:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Nimbus 23

G & I were both in tears this morning when there was no Snork snuffling around under the table and begging for our breakfasts (as well as his own) so it was good to go for a redwoods run with an empathetic Fern, even though I didn't have much energy due to sleeping terribly last night.

swimming 35:00 [3] 1.0 km (35:00 / km)

A bit spooked overnight because yesterday's RAT (we are having to do them daily currently) developed a second - very faint, and in a weird place - line during the day while I was at work, but this morning's RAT was as emphatically negative as something with 70% accuracy can be.
6 PM

running (Shepherds Hill) 37:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 27

Needed a head-clearing run and got 2 hills in before the scheduled deadline of taking the dog to the vet, and he didn't come home with us - which, we had decided a couple of weeks ago, needed to be the plan - but still, I've never before seen G cry, not even when his parents died :(

There will never be another dog like Meatloaf, and we were very lucky to have nearly 18 years with him, although would actually have needed another 5 days for that to be mathematically the case.

riding 1:15:00 [3]

Legs & brain were pretty dead after a long day on my feet in the dispensary but it was too nice an evening not to go for a sunset ride to West Beach and Glenelg. Turned out there was a concert on down the Bay and so I had to dodge lots of pedestrians around the jetty precinct.
