Run long (Bridgewater-Mt Lofty) 1:55:00 [3] 18.28 km (6:17 / km) +500m 5:32 / km

Went for a long run with John this morning from Bridgewater Oval to Mt Lofty and back. Beautiful day for a run, with the sun shining and everything looking green and lush. Lots of trees down along the way, probably unhealthy from the drought and just falling over now the ground is so moist. We followed the Heysen Trail most of the way, going up Sprigg Road and the steep track on the eastern side of Mt Lofty (I made it most of the way to the top before I had to stop and 'admire the view' for 30 seconds!). It was quite cold and windy at the top of Mt Lofty, so we only stopped for short time to have a drink and look out over the gulf. Then we went back down through Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens, the camelias were very speccy, and back along the Heysen Trail again.
Felt really good once I warmed up (rest day yesterday finally allowed my body to recover from the rogaine last weekend) and could have run for another 1/2 hour or so if I needed to, which I didn't ;o)

Cycling (Commute) 35:00 [3]

Strength Training (Upper, core & glutes) 40:00 [3]

The extra reps on my arms are hurting a bit, but I guess that's a good thing. Actually got a bit hot and sweaty this morning which probably means it wasn't freezing at 6am for once!

Cycling (Commute) 35:00 [3]

Run (Belair Night Run) 55:00 [3]

Ran with John, Simon, Zara, Lauren & Jenny around the standard loop in Belair. Up to the train station, NE and then over the line, up and up before crossing over Queen Jubilee, over the train line, down the stairs to Long Gully and back on the track along the creek (which was really wet!).
I wasn't going to run tonight, being really tired, but it was such nice weather that I just had to go. I struggled a bit and my ankles were really weak (went over on the right ankle once, but it was fine) but it was a really enjoyable run - great to catch up with the 24hr rogaine adventure goss!

Strength Training (Upper, core & glutes) 40:00 [3]

Cycling (Commute) 35:00 [3]

Run (Warm-up & Warm-down) 20:35 [3]

Jogged to and from Pinky's Flat for Corporate Cup this afternoon.

Run tempo (Corporate Cup) 21:32 [3] 4.5 km (4:47 / km)

Was feeling really tired and my heart wasn''t really in it, but I still beat my best time for last year by 54 seconds - so it couldn't be too bad!

Cycling (Commute - Uni) 50:00 [3]

By some miracle I dodged the showers and didn't get wet. Someone likes me today! Legs felt pretty average riding up the hills, though.

Run tempo (North Adelaide) 50:00 [3]

Warm up to the toilet and back 15:00. Then I ran 3 x 400m with 200m recovery but felt awful and couldn't keep up the pace. Died halfway through the 3rd 400. Then I did a couple of slower 200m intervals before settling in behind a guy running to do a 2.2km lap at just above comfortable running pace. Then did another lap recovery with the gang.

Think maybe not enough sleep or food to recover properly from the rogaine (my left leg is also still a tiny bit sore). I haven't been that hungry and my tummy's been upset (it was upset after the adventure race for a couple of days, too) so I'll force down a large pasta meal tonight and see how I go in the Corporate Cup tomorrow.

Cycling (Commute) 35:00 [3]

Strength Training (Upper, core & glutes) 40:00 [3]

Added an extra 5 reps to each of my upper body exercises.

Run (Suburbs) 31:35 [3] 5.87 km (5:23 / km)

Went for a 'slow' run with Simon and John around the burbs. Felt pretty tough to me but that's probably just post rogaine tiredness. My knee/hamstring felt heaps better so I think it must've been just a short-lived tiredness injury.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Extreme stiffness and pain behind my left knee - can hardly straighten my leg. Seems to feel better when I'm moving around and get worse when I'm sitting still. Hopefully it will go away soon.
