Hiking 4:31:53 [3] 10.6 mi (25:39 / mi) +2400ft 21:07 / mi
shoes: Lone Peak 4.0

GMNP - Tejas / Bowl / Bear Canyon / Frijole. Gorgeous morning - maybe upper 50s at the start and low 70s at the end with lots of awesome 60s for much of the hike. Sunny and breezy meant that overheating wasn't a concern on the climb up Tejas. Took it really easy on the climb. Stopped for a sit every half mile or so, both too let the HR settle and to just enjoy the surroundings. The Bowl was lovely, Bear Canyon was a friggin beast (all business), and Frijole seemed to go on forever. A really, really nice day in the mountains. Far too short, but way better than being at home...

Davis Mountains State Park - Lithia Canyon Loop. A chilly start, but it turned into a perfect weather day - mixed clouds and sun - never too cool, never too warm. A bit of a climb after the first mile, but nothing terrible. Some lovely, wide open scenery up top. Best part - didn't see another human being the entire time.
