Just a spirited roll to the far end of the dirt road behind the lake. Lots of folks out on the dirt road today. Stuff to do, so kept it short. Hopefully do some O-type stuff tomorrow after mapping...

Comfortable temps, but super humid. Easy run out by the lake with 12x50m strides on the return... Down 5.6#. First time in long time I've seen the underside of 170.

Originally headed out to go mapping - the weather forecast was cloudy until later and radar was clear. But the humidity was 98% and by the time I got to Vernon the roads were wet and I needed my wipers on the highway, even though it wasn't exactly raining out. So bailed on the mapping for today as it would have been rather unpleasant. And back home for a trail run..

Kind of a misty non-rain thing going on. Decided glasses would wind up in my hand anyway so left them home. Did the time trial course, but since I couldn't see all that well just kind of cruised it easily. Slowest time by over 4 minutes, but that was kind of expected. Actually fairly comfortable running though, as long as I wasnt' pushing it or anything..

Run - Road 4:37 intensity: (2:12 @2) + (2:25 @3) 0.75 km (6:10 / km) +14m 5:39 / km

So I'm an advisor for the upcoming "The Real World: Shenipsit" Trail Relay Race in a couple weeks. Not a virtual race, but an honest to god in person race complete with socially compliant rules set and a whole lot of shenanigans. Emma produced expert bios to introduce us to our victims...

Morning walk to the lake. light overcast and slight chill to start, wore long sleeve shirt. Sun came out and getting warm by the time I got back.

Testing external GPS with mapping tablet - Garmin GLO2. Whipped up a quick map using OSM data, drafted roads on OSM centerline. Mock GPS worked quite well, the track was very smooth and jitter free (10hz refresh) and tracked the side of the road I was walking on almost perfectly. This track from the Forerunner, but I may upload the other track for comparison later when I pull it from the tablet. Had GPS in top pocket of pack, so some blockage from my big old head perhaps, but plan to mount GLO2 onto a ball cap so it sits on top of my head and doesn't get any satellite blockage.

Misty, 50ish. Was supposed to just be cloudy. After an hour or so it picked up - still light, but now all the undergrowth was wet. But a fair bit done. But also most of the wide open, trails & contours only stuff. Now headed into the greener bits. Some just a nuisance, other areas sharp & nasty. About 0.1 sq km complete, plus some edge definition elsewhere

Run - Trail 27:08 intensity: (18 @0) + (16 @1) + (1:22 @2) + (13:23 @3) + (11:30 @4) + (19 @5) 4.06 km (6:41 / km) +125m 5:48 / km

And a short jaunt around the place. Can't get much more than this without repeating ones self... Pleasant enough in the light rain, though quite evident I've been slacking in that department.
