One of my collegues was also on Elbert with his family yesterday (they also turned back before the summit). He said they met two women on the trail (his daughter was with them near the top before they turned around). Were they you and Sarah?

Yes, that was us. His daughter is Danielle. They offered us a ride the two miles back to our car, but we decided to keep going since the mother was a bit slower coming down than us. We made it within a 100 yards of our car before they caught us. :)
