Ran well las t2 evenings. While walking around shortly afterwards left knee felt stiff or off...there was no event or anything that I could point to...it just started acting up. Now I am worried about if it will go away or at least be something I can run through...feels a little worse...crap...crap...crap

I am actually in a nice pattern of being able to run 3-4 milers during week and longer on weekend...I think it will be ok...but I may have to back off...who knows?

My left knee keeps having sharp shooting pains in certain positions...it reminds me of what happened when we were at basic training in San Antonio probably Jan of 76...I would like to kid about being in combat (although Viet Nam had ended earlier in 75...what's a little thing like a fact to get in the way of a good story?) but I guess i won't. It was at mail call...I shifted around as we listened for our name to be called and I felt a sharp pain in my right knee. i ignored it and hobbled around until shipped off to Denver.

Gradually in Denver it got better. I remember going out on a snowy night and having a good run..probably at least a month later...but then after a few years I could feel something floating...it was a tiny bone chip that gradually got bigger as it picked up calcium and they had to cut it out in 1981 I believe...simply because the fragment was jamming into my knee joint more and more...

I ran 4 miles well after being tired earlier in the week and after a good 3.8 run Thursday...last 3 miles were less than 9:05 pace...the thing with the hamstring was that I could at least walk and walkjog...I'm going to try to walk a mile later but it will be slow and I don't know yet if I can...

I did jump off a curb with .4 to go because of construction...but I felt nothing...I was walking around the house and felt a soreness bordering on pain out of the blue but at first assumed it was temporary but not so. Ice and heat and elevation...tried 2 of James pain pills from his operation just now...he barely took them...

Once again I was on the verge of going to the next level...the past year every little ham thing I've been able to 'recover' by walk/jog and often within about 3 days or so...and the walk/jog was actually a nice pace...I have a set of exercises that has seemed to help me with the ham too....and now this...crap...maybe it will go away quickly I don't know.

I feel light-headed...I think the medicine is kicking in...except it is supposed to work on my leg not my head.

2 years until retirement...literally...18.5 months until I'm 62...can work about 5 more months and get a xmas bonus and yearly spring bonus (average of 17% of salary meaning it is pretty good sized) and then shut er down...

USAA just switched from Humana (horrible insurance...at least the debit card thing was...when it worked great but there were continuous challenges to bills already paid and you had to work with doctor to resubmit paperwork...usually either coded wrong or the same thing they had already seen and approved...)

I can't imagine people that have really terrible things happen to them and their loved ones...how they deal with it...

My legs had toned up even without speed work...more than they had in a long time...now I have to watch it all melt away...will have to watch drinking cokes again...

Good luck to you Koski...I guess it's time for your aches and pains to go away since I'm down now....

I don't know if my 31 year streak of having some sort of workout is about to go away...maybe it's just as well...my run streak of a mile or more ended after 23 years...

Poop and crap...

As you can see self-pity is not a problem with me.
