how did you hit upon horsetooth? I had my eyes on it, because I like Fort Collins, the camping is cheap, and its got some trails at moderate altitude.
What did you think of the trails and landscape as a whole?

I stopped in at REI Ft Collins because Yaya's old sleeping pad finally gave up. The guy in the camping section recommended it. I'd give it an "OK" rating. If the trails were right next to the campground, that would go up to "Very Good". Main thing I didn't like was that so many people were smoking pot. The air was just full of it. That's illegal in national parks and forests so it hasn't been an issue anywhere else. I fear for MO campgrounds if it becomes legal here.

New twist on second hand smoke. Well, I guess the backwoods are the best after all.

Well according to Colorado tax data reports, recreational usage is increasing currently by over 60% annually. So this major change in our permissive society has only begun to evolve.

And I think we have to learn to accept that change. At 75 I find I tend to be increasingly intolerant...an attitude I don't particularly admire in myself. Fortunately being married to a Finn, I get daily lessons in tolerance, for which the Finns are well known.

If pot is legalized in Missouri and Illinois, I'm sure it will be a non-event for most of us.
