:) Thanks! I don't know how the whole selection process works after I make the top 6... (6th American, 4th for next years team) I really hope to improve more too, though. I'm running the elite sprint and middle at the eastern canadians, M-20 on the long (I'm not crazy). I hope to bring up the American orienteering standards... Gotta beat Canada! :P

Omg me too! go check out my post on thewaterstop answering you. But i will say here Totally agree this years jacket was a bit poofy for my liking. And i think we should design some warm up suits and get a pricing and propose them.

I think we also need to recognize the fact that Canada has been better than the Americans in the past. However much I hate to admit it, it is an unfortunate truth. But have no fear! The "American Standards" have been raised! And Allison, do you know about the new requirments for the Canadian Junior team? I really like the way its set up. Maybe we should try for something like that. (If you don't know, ask a Canadian, they know better than I do). Emily, have your dad send the canadian requirements to some American official. Just change M/F-21 E to Blue/Red. It would definately force improvement.

Basically, girls and guys have to run at the elite level at two events. At least I think thats what it is. I can't remember all the details but I think athletes need to be logging on attackpoint. The main idea is to get kids to train as there was a problem last year, or so I've heard...

mmm well i think cus we have a bigger Junior selection (at least for girls) that may not work. Plus what is the difference between green and red? besides length? also at least we changed it from green/brown to red/green. I do however agree that everyone needs to be logging on attackpoint!

It is the distance, and the experience running against people who will beat you. I know I am going to start running blue, the longs in Italy will kill me if I don't. 10+ k is killer. And because the courses are longer, you're in the woods longer and get more time to orienteer (thats one of the benefits I like best (doesn't really apply to sprints). And I get to say I'm better than a certain someone because I'm running a harder course (I don't actually say that (although its not a bad idea! :P )).

True and i have kinda started to run red at local meets but i like running green at a-meets. Most of the girls do that and there are a lot of older women who are good that run green. But i see your point about running a longer course.
