I just ran across these maps and models. Pretty neat. Some very nice animations with each of these. I wonder if the avg snowpack temps correlate well with your measurments and conditions.

Depth looks accurate. Temp seems correct at the moment, too. Nice find. I've been using http://www.erh.noaa.gov/nerfc/graphics/snowmaps/ht...

Interesting. Looks like the same data, but smoothed. I wonder how much of the detail in the model image is from real imagery and how much is just a model of the depth variation with altitude convolved with the spot station reports.

Mission Statement

The National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center (NOHRSC) provides remotely-sensed and modeled hydrology products for the coterminous U.S. and Alaska for the protection of life and property and the enhancement of the national economy.

NOHRSC airborne, satellite, and modeled snow data and products are used by NWS, other government agencies, the private sector, and the public to support operational and research hydrology programs across the nation.

Working together to save lives with snow information

Should they include "helping you choose the right wax" in their mission statement?
