If this is the best your weather can do (crummy in spite of it being past mid-May), you might as well head out for the Mountain West, where you can enjoy some proper crummy weather nearly every single day. There is no point in doing these things in a half-baked way, mouse labs or not.

Plus, not to switch subjects--even though I am doing just that--you are going to have to pick up your training considerably. Did you know your training doesn't even measure up to many strictly average rec runners? (But don't feel too bad, Jordan's doesn't either, if you are willing to believe certain "informed" sources.)

That was a terrible comment in a terrible thread. But you're preaching to the choir here. I strongly feel getting people more worked up and angry is not a good thing. Ross, you're awesome and an impressive athlete :)

These comments just made me scan through that thread... What a waste of time, Thanks guys ;)

I already wasted some valuable training time there :(
It´s good to see someone is actually training instead of hanging out here on AP all the time.

Hey friends, the weather here really is depressing. It's sapping on the motivation to wake up every morning to grey skies. I'm not too worried about my training measuring up right now, though I do need to figure out a way to motivate myself to add at least a hill workout each week to the mix. I tell myself that I will run hills each Monday, and then by the end of the day I'm just tired and I want to go home and eat 3000 calories or so :)

I actually didn't think the thread or the comment was so harsh, and danf, you have nothing to apologize for. I am really impressed by those people that have the passion and the courage of their own convictions to defend a viewpoint that is unpopular. I didn't take your comments to be mean spirited because none of your other posts have ever been the attacking kind. You're a very obliging person to voluntarily remove all your posts and I salute you for gracefully stepping aside in this instance.

Thanks to you guys for supporting me so strongly, even when I don't manage to log on a regular basis or post as many of my maps as I should :) it means a lot to me that people are vocal on my behalf.

I have tried trail-o a couple of times, and found that I'm not very good at it. I will still root for Brendan and CSU :) but I prefer the variations of orienteering where I am more successful.

Monday hills would totally suck. If you ever manage that, I will give you many a biscuit.

I didn't think it was so much to get worked all up about either. Mostly I just thought--and still think--it was nearly all somewhere between amusing and funny. I assume that was the intent behind JJ's original post (though I could be wrong) and, as far as I'm concerned, good on him. For the folks that take things too seriously--well, too bad.

Anyway, rosstopher, when are you not a good guy hero? I mean, when are you not a good guy hero when you are not duct taped to a tree? Your positive attitude is contagious to anyone around you, so good on you, too!

But, really, you could have drawn some true inspiration from the weather out here today. Besides the ice rain, grey skies, and driving wind, there was actual ice in the ice rain. As they say in certain little towns out on the frontier, "So fine!"

Ah Swampfox, to me it sounds like you could use a little bit of a vacation from all that lovely weather. As the old chestnut goes, "If you really love the ice rain you need to set it free" by which they mean would you consider spending a week in Poland at the end of June/beginning of July. The JWOC squad is in need of a chaperone shaped object, and you look to be about the right dimensions. The question is meant in all seriousness but with no undue pressure :)

I believe I would rather watch Shania Twain's comeback on TV. I'm a fan of midriffs, and a big believer in deliberate practice.

I can promise a couple of midriffs in the GB junior team for sure.

Let's pretend that wasn't entirely inappropriate and just a comment on current European O' Fashion.

What, is the W20 midriff back in fashion again, after what, a two-year hiatus?

Or is GB just a few years behind the trend?

Oh, they're just keeping the dream alive.

Becky or Neil, either of you want to be team leader? :)

Yeah, one of you should! I would take either of you as company, please.

I wouldn't trust myself with all those midriffs around. [Now I just wait for Boris to chime in...]

No comment. This is a public forum.

I would absolutely love the job, but as usual, there's no chance of getting the time off.

When I move back to Europe however...
