out tramping the trails, or pounding the pavement again, it will be worth the time spent :)

I totally agree with that assessment!

At this point, some improvement will really be welcome. Hills (especially downhills) definite cause my knees to grumble significantly, even at a slow walking pace, so I can't imagine doing much in the way of orienteering or even mapping in my present physical state. So I'm quite willing to put in 45 minutes or so a day, in the hopes of seeing some improvement.

Or if no improvement is seen, I want to at least be able to honestly tell the ortho Dr that I made my maximum effort at the PT route to no avail, when I see him again 4 weeks from today. And then have him recommend the next step.

And in the "things could be worse" department -- at the station next to me today, being attended to by the same PT person who was dealing with me, was a young lady with two very prominent incisions (well stitched up) on her right knee, one on the front, the other on the side. She was doing her rehab activities, which were obviously much less active than mine. I overheard her say a few things to the PT guy that kind of hinted that she was a skier; when I was finally done, I had a chance to ask her if it was a skiing injury, and it indeed was. At Hunt Hollow, her home slope. And she's good -- she's a ski instructor there. This happened in early January, and she obviously has a long ways to go in her recuperation.
