Fabulous - looks like a sweet girl. I'm partial to black dogs myself. :)

My parents had to put their golden retriever on a slim-down regimen, and found that green beans worked well as a low-calorie filler. Keeps the dog full but not so many calories.

Thanks Elizabeth! I'll keep in mind your suggestion of green beans. First thing to try, though, is simply reducing how much she is fed -- she seems to have very little interest in food, compared to Homer anyway. If we give Homer a biscuit it's gone in 1-2 seconds. With Hanna, we offer it to her; she sniffs it for a few seconds to figure out if it's something she wants; she grudgingly takes it in her mouth, holds it for a few more seconds, then drops it! And when she's fed, she'll pick up a grain of the dry dog food, drop it on the floor, sniff it, then maybe eat it. Homer, by contrast, devours his cup of food in 15 seconds or so. So it appears that she is far from feeling starved, and we can cut back a lot w/o her feeling food-deprived!

So cute. And Homer looks happy enough about having a sister.

Homer does in fact seem glad to have another dog in the house. Well, he ranges from neutral to positive, I would say, but never seems bummed about the situation.
