Titterstone Clee West mids league.
Started well. A bit too well. Somehow managed to nail the first 4 or 5 controls in a way I've never done before.
A well planned map then turned to a cluster of zoomed in controls on a inset scale map. Mostly did alright on these as well.
Normal service resumed at 12-13. Brain took a dump and couldn't match the map to ground even though I was only looking for a path and a gate.
13-14. Terrible leg. Lost all confidence and couldn't see the fence I was aiming at. Panicked a bit but eventually sorted myself out and relocated. Lost over 10 minutes on just those 2 controls.
Saw Henry closing in on way to 15. Good job I did because he was about to miss out 15 and go straight to 16. Lost concentration. I was almost on the control but pissed about and we went in circles for a bit.
We then dropped too low to 16 but not too bad. He buggered off then.
Very snowy on this side of the hill so was on my arse several times.
17 and 18 got a bit of a wobble on both.
19 completely messed up. Totally wrong route choice. Should've headed up to the road and dropped down into it but farted around searching in the wrong spurs.
20, 21, 22 all longish legs but straight bearing nav which I've never been any good at so just picked up attack points along the way. Rubbish in control circle as usual and lost al confidence again.

All in all a great enjoyable run out. very cold and If the race was only 5 or 6 controls I would have done well but ended up mid table as usual.
Also forgot my right shoe while loading up the car so now only have one Irock.

'just at tail end of this chest infection'.
