OUA classic 10km mass start!
Start was a hot mess and a half… managed to stay on my feet but then I had to work very hard to catch back up. First lap felt pretty strong. Then I went pretty much full lactic in my whole body on the second time up the Wall - not used to this with running! Narrowly missed another wipeout as the girl is front of me fell on a downhill. Then on the back loop I was able to use the downhills to rest up a bit and finish strong in around 31st (I think there were some false DNFs in the results).
Fun to race most of the 2nd loop with fellow GNOAC friend Taylor :)
Overall a great weekend, feeling strong in multi day racing got me excited for orienteering races this summer!

OUA race #1 - “10.5km” freestyle ski, interval start.
Great first lap, tried to hang onto Milla but she was mighty fast on the downhills. After about 2 km the front of my shins were cramping and I was struggling to lift my skis up on the ups and downs. Technique kind fell apart. Shins started to feel better after about 8 km and I had a pretty good 3rd lap. Surprised myself with a 27th place finish, about 7 minutes back from Parry Sounder Shaylynn Loewen and 3 mins behind Milla. Fun time!!

OUA relay leg 1! This was great! Was much more aggressive and feeling stronger than this morning. Made one last push on the last hill. Mac women’s A team was 5th and B team (my team) was 12th!
