Munro bagging with Sarah on the Ben More range. Although shy of 20km, found this pretty hard work due to off-trod running and some brutal climbs. All climbs needing a walk really. Got stuck in some craggy steps coming up Cruach Ardrain, but thankfully only one hairy moment getting up a gully.

Felt OK fitness wise for the first 2.5 hours, but after that was a bit mentally drained and wanted just to get back to the car and my stash of 50 cans of red bull.

Knee felt mainly fine when we were going round, but not that much running to test it.

Really good to be out in the proper hills again, it's been too long!

evening run round the forests on the slope of Ben Ledi. Explored a lovely mix of new tracks with broad views across the valley floor. Calves wrecked from new shoes and the hard surface.

Knee passable and doesn't seem to have got any worse since last night.

Quite a few midges about.

decided to have a crack at a fell race for the first time in what must be about 3 years...

felt like I was going to collapse on the first climb after I went off a little too hard but narrow paths meant I just had to stick with it. felt a bit better once up to the Law but people started coming past me on the downhill and flatter bits. knee did not enjoy the downhill at all so just trundled down (but think I was so tired couldn't have gone much quicker anyway).

knee pretty sore after the race but being able to do a fell race seemed a distant dream as soon ago as early May when my knee was last dodgy so this is overall a big positive.

about 30th - ish and a long way down on a flying GG.
