Trail running 2:27:04 [2] 12.6 mi (11:40 / mi) +407m 10:36 / mi
shoes: On Cloud grey-black

Exploring the trails at Stonehouse Pond starting in the East on Merry Hill Road. It was already hot when I started, so I decided to do a slow run and do a bit of sightseeing. This terrain is fabulous. The NE section is mostly open woods with nice boulders here and there and and good glaciation. The SE portion around Stonehouse Pond is rugged, but still runnable in many places as I could tell from the trails. Visibility is great almost everywhere! Great potential for O-ing, but access / parking is problem. Only a few spaces on the approach to the Pond. One would have to gain gate access to the most northerly trail head on Rt 202 and then park in one of several large fields long that trail, which is actually a very drivable dirt road. A project for the future. For now, I just really enjoyed my run.

Out on the trails with only a vague plan. First I was unsure whether I could connect from Mill Road through a new housing site. No workers on site, so it was a go. Then the plan gelled : To Stonehenge and back selecting trails to minimize duplication on the way out and on the way back - a combinatorics run. I had no water (fanny pack in the wash), so I did not want to go too far. But I felt good overall so ended up choosing a longer loop to Highland and an honorary sling around the hole, which amounted to an eighter. Sub-9 is quite fast for these trails, so I am pretty happy about the effort. Hip is feeling better - I warm it up and down pre- and post run, which helps.

shoes: Topo MT3

Out for an early run before the fog is lifting. I was hung over from a shingles shot - a slight fever and lack of appetite. The humid air did not help either to refresh - yet once I got going it was fine and I got some tempo going after mile 2. Pretty wiped afterwards though.

Cycling - Bianci Mt Bike 40:31 [3] 9.02 mi (4:30 / mi) +93m 4:21 / mi

A quicky into town and around to Packers Falls - to make it home before yet another scheduled ZOOM meeting.
6 PM

Road Running 37:19 [3] 5.24 mi (7:07 / mi) +78m 6:48 / mi
shoes: Altra gray (Torin 4)

Dover Pub Run with the usual "suspects". Ran with Chris and Brian, but Chris moved head at mile 3.5. It was hot so Brian and I chose to slow it for a cool down during the last mile. It felt good. Road running is overall less work than running trails, but it is more repetitive stress for the body overall.
Tacos and beer afterwards in the "Biergarten" of the Brickhouse. Some social distancing afterwards, but we should have probably spaced a little more - (not enough tables? ).

Half at the Northwood Meadows.

It was already hot at the beginning wherever the sun was poking trough. Easy start (right after breakfast) and then later some bushwalking tryng to approach Saddleback - but then gave up on it - did not want to cross the deep "canyon" twice. Thanks for having a map, I navigated back to the trail, These woods are enjoyable!
