Roller skiing - classic 57:50 intensity: (1:04 @1) + (8:59 @2) + (42:44 @3) + (5:03 @4) 9.23 km (6:16 / km) +43m 6:07 / km

Morning roller-skiing with Maria. She wanted to be done before going to work and I wanted to be back for the XC ski WC relays on TV...
Temp around 0C but quite nice and mostly dry pavement (the last few times have been wet and/or rainy). Apparently some of the bike paths have been sanded this past week which isn´t so good for roller-skiing.
My back has been feeling better for a few days, but usually a bit stiff in the morning - no problems (yet) after this so I declare myself un-injured.

Back a bit better today and slept OK - still a bit weak, but definitely going the right way.

Slept badly because of my bad back. Actually managed to fall asleep in the early morning and woke up 15 min before I should be at work. Managed to get there in time though (3-4 min´s late...).
Felt stiff and the back hurt most of the day.

TNT, Skräddarbacken - late as always, but that really doesn't make any difference since I run on my own anyway.
A very slow and sluggish jog - which is the best classification of this I can give - and some walking in there too. I´m a bit worried about my running shape which is rather non-existent for the time being - not surprised though, since it has been an extremely bad year.
This past year I lack regular running training - both distance and speed (which is very rare even when I´m training) - starting from early spring after a full winter of XC skiing without a single step of running for three months. Spring was slow, but at least I did train, mainly in the forest until my calf injury at EOC. The planned training for Switzerland and NAOC just didn´t happen and I went roller-skiing instead... My roller-skiing went well, it is of no use for running shape though, but better than nothing.
Plan now for this winter is to run at least once a week - Tuesdays with the club is the best bet - and also get back into the gym to get my allround strength back. Abs, back and arms for skiing and leg muscles for running have started to disappear from not doing anything for more than 8 months (?).

Noticed after the training that my back hurt. Don´t know where it came from but it got worse during the rest of the evening.

Roller skiing - classic 45:42 intensity: (35 @1) + (3:07 @2) + (28:33 @3) + (13:27 @4) 7.04 km (6:30 / km) +31m 6:21 / km

Another roller skiing session with Maria (w. headlamp). A bit rainy, wet pavement but otherwise quite nice. Temp around 5C.
Felt slightly better than last time we went out together, slow skis make for a lot harder effort and considerably slower times. Everything went well until the last 500 m when Maria managed to break one of her poles the same way I did last year - by getting stuck in the sewer :( So new poles is something that has to be fixed before next time.
